چکیده

Abstract Carbon fibre reinforced polymeric material (CFRP) is increasingly being used to replace metallic materials, particularly in the automobile and aerospace industries. The mechanical properties of CFRP such as excellent weight strength ratio give beneficial outcome improving performance part made from CFRP. However, machining milling difficult challenging due abrasiveness Therefore, influence cutting speeds on tool wear surface roughness when a dry condition aim this paper. test was carried out using 6 mm WC-Co end mill having 30° helix angle. Milling performed with three different speeds, V c (94, 113 132 m/min) while feed rate, f (1800 mm/min) radial depth cut, e (2 mm) were remained constant. =132 m/min resulted increasing by 15 % 10% compared = 94 m/min. damages matrix smearing, delamination pull observed higher speed.

Effect of Fiber Surface Treatment on Wear Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polyamide 6 Composites

Ozone modification method and air-oxidation were used for the surface treatment of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)-based carbon fiber. The surface characteristics of carbon fibers were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The interfacial properties of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) composites were investigated by means of the single fiber pull-out tests. As a result...

Analysis of Milling Process Parameters and their Influence on Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites (RESEARCH NOTE)

Milling of fiber reinforced polymer composites is of great importance for integrated composites with other mating parts. Improper selection of cutting process parameters, excessive cutting forces and other machining conditions would result in rejection of components. Therefore, machining conditions are optimized to reduce the machining forces and damages. This work reports practical experiments...

Effect of surface treatments on damping behavior of carbon and glass fiber reinforced friction material

The ability to absorb vibrations in a vehicle during braking conditions depends primarily on the selection of ingredients for a friction material and interfacial adhesion between all these ingredients.  In this work, a hybrid brake friction material is developed by combination of carbon fiber (CF), glass fiber (GF), resin and other ingredients. The surfaces of carbon and glass fibers are c...
